Alexis Puget's creative work

Alexis Puget | Contemporary Artist Exploring Internet Culture and Multimedia Sculpture

Alexis Puget is a Paris-based contemporary artist born in 2000 whose practice explores the intersection of internet culture, science fiction, and the environmental crisis of the Anthropocene. Working across sculpture, video, and multimedia installations, Alexis Puget investigates how contemporary digital trends and meteorological phenomena shape our perception of reality. The artist's work is characterized by network-like assemblages that blend para-scientific research with speculative, dystopian, and utopian narratives. Having studied at the Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg and the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe, Alexis Puget has developed a distinct visual language that incorporates 3D printing, AI, drawing, and found objects. Notable projects such as Will I still perform tomorrow? and Playlist for an eternal Autumn highlight a focus on landscapes of melancholy and the preservation of ancient rituals within a capitalist environment. Alexis Puget's work has been exhibited internationally in cities including Paris, Berlin, Venice, and Basel, and the artist has held residencies at prestigious institutions like Artagon Pantin and LAZNIA Center for Contemporary Art. In addition to a sculptural practice, Alexis Puget maintains a curatorial practice, often using gathered documentary material to build fictional and poetic narratives. By examining the Capitalocene through a post-romantic lens, Alexis Puget creates immersive experiences that challenge viewers to consider the legacy of industrial objects and the evolving nature of human stories in the digital age.
