aur pictures – an independent production company

AUR was founded by Christian Sgaard in 2021, initially working with brands and agencies throughout the Nordics. In 2025, Amir Shaheen joined as partner, and we refocused toward original storytelling—building an auteur-driven production studio creating films rooted in honest, emotional, and uncompromising narratives. In 2026, we became three when Petter Grindahl joined the team. Our work includes the experimental short Det hyeste ropet (The Highest Cry), the grief-driven character study Ava, and commercial collaborations with Netflix Nordic, Intel, PUMA, and Adidas. Beyond our own productions, we founded Oslo Filmmakers, a low-key networking community that's growing rapidly into Oslo's most inclusive filmmaker platform. It reflects the same vision that drives our films: create character-driven stories that refuse to look away from the messy truth of being human, and build the community that helps others do the same.
