Bartha Contemporary Abstract and Conceptual Art Gallery
Bartha Contemporary was established in London in January 2000 by the Swiss-German duo Niklas and Daniela von Bartha. The gallery's core program emphasizes non-figurative, abstract, and conceptual art by contemporary practitioners. Throughout its tenure, Bartha Contemporary has curated exhibitions that highlight diverse artistic expressions, moving from its initial South Kensington location to spaces in Notting Hill, Fitzrovia, and St. James. Today, the gallery resides in a light-filled studio in Ledbury Mews North, Notting Hill, which features an infinity curve wall ideally suited for high-impact presentations. The gallery's history is marked by its dedication to international dialogue, participating in prominent art fairs across Europe and North America, including New York, Basel, and Cologne. Its programming includes solo and group shows by artists such as Mike Meiré, Joan Witek, Clay Ketter, and Lucinda Burgess. The gallery also engages with contemporary culture through site-specific installations, collaborations with guest curators, and online viewing rooms that explore themes of serial gestures, spatial measures, and material syntax. Bartha Contemporary remains committed to fostering deep engagement with contemporary art within a tranquil and focused environment, offering visitors a unique perspective on modern abstract practices and conceptual development through its thoughtfully selected artists and exhibition projects.
