Contour Art Gallery: Professional Contemporary Art and Curated Exhibitions
Contour Art Gallery is a professional contemporary art institution founded in 2016 by economist and art critic Vilma Mačianskaitė. Based in Vilnius, Lithuania, the gallery has built a significant reputation for representing a curated group of artists whose work is characterized by artistic professionalism, conceptually grounded ideas, and high-quality performance. Initially operating as a nomadic project through pop-up exhibitions and strategic collaborations with museums and cultural institutions, Contour Art Gallery expanded to a permanent space in downtown Vilnius to better serve the local and international art communities. The gallery’s program focuses on contemporary Lithuanian art, featuring media such as painting, drawing, and fine art photography, with a notable interest in abstract expressionism and innovative conceptual practices. Represented artists include Diana Remeikytė, Eglė Ridikaitė, and Raimondas Gailiūnas, among others. Contour Art Gallery actively fosters international visibility for its artists by participating in respected global art fairs, including Photo London, EXPO CHICAGO, Art Verona, and Art Vilnius. Through these activities, the gallery provides a platform for both established and emerging voices, facilitating a dialogue between traditional artistic values and modern perspectives. Exhibitions curated by Contour Art Gallery, such as 'LOCALS' and 'MONSTRARE,' often explore complex narratives and aesthetic innovations. The gallery is committed to maintaining high professional standards while making significant contemporary works accessible to collectors and enthusiasts. By bridging the gap between local talent and the global art market, Contour Art Gallery remains a vital part of the cultural landscape in Lithuania and beyond.
