Florence Montmare's creative work

Florence Montmare | Renowned Fine Art Photographer and Director

Florence Montmare is an international artist, photographer, and director whose work bridges the gap between fine art, fashion, and cinematography. Born in Vienna and raised in Stockholm, she brings a multifaceted perspective to her practice, which is currently centered in New York City and Sweden. Florence Montmare holds an MBA in Innovation & Design Management and is a graduate of the International Center of Photography in New York. Her artistic journey is marked by a deep investigation into the human condition, isolation, and transience, often played out against evocative landscapes. One of her most notable series, Scenes from an Island, was created during residencies at the Ingmar Bergman Estate on the remote island of Fårö. This project illustrates her ability to capture the intersection of stillness and movement, creating tableaux vivants that invite viewers into a space of meditation and healing. Her work has been exhibited at prestigious venues including Fotografiska New York and the Helsinki Photo Festival, and she is represented by galleries such as the Ivy Brown Gallery. Florence Montmare works across multiple disciplines, including film, performance, and installation. Her collaborative approach often involves experimentation with negative space and elemental conditions of nature. Through her studio, Florence Montmare LLC, she continues to produce compelling visual content, campaigns, and books that resonate with a global audience, maintaining a practice that is both personal and profoundly universal.
