Hsieh Chen-Yuan — Architecture Designer & Creative Technologist
Hsieh Chen-Yuan is an architecture designer and creative technologist based in Taiwan, working across spatial design, digital fabrication, and research-driven creative practice. His work explores how computational systems, material behavior, and structural logic can operate as generative forces rather than fixed tools, positioning design as an evolving process shaped by experimentation, feedback, and adaptation. Through projects, installations, and academic research, Hsieh develops hybrid workflows that combine parametric design, robotic fabrication, prototyping, and conceptual thinking. His practice emphasizes process-based methodologies, uncertainty, and emergence, often bridging architecture, art, and technology through spatial systems that respond to context, material agency, and digital mediation. Hsieh is the founder of RETurinGHarmonica, a creative design and research studio operating as a platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration. The studio focuses on concept-driven spatial systems, experimental structures, and fabrication-oriented research, integrating advanced computational workflows with material experimentation. RETurinGHarmonica collaborates with artists, designers, institutions, and cultural organizations on projects ranging from conceptual development to fabrication execution, providing creative direction, design research, digital prototyping, and technical consulting. Together, Hsieh Chen-Yuan and RETurinGHarmonica position design as a critical, adaptive, and forward-looking creative practice.
