Janeth Berrettini is a Venezuelan-born visual artist currently living and working in Zurich, Switzerland. With a professional career spanning several decades, she has established a unique and independent artistic voice through a diverse range of media including painting, video, performance art, and large-scale installations. Janeth Berrettini’s creative journey has taken her from her birthplace in Caracas to Mazatlán, Mexico, and eventually to Zurich, allowing her to integrate diverse cultural perspectives and international influences into her extensive body of work. One of Janeth Berrettini’s significant areas of conceptual focus is the deep dialogue between the human experience and the surrounding environment, frequently centered around themes like water, movement, and connectivity. Her project titled „Drops“ specifically explores the essence and pollution of water in the city of Zurich, while her installation „Connecting“ reflects on important social themes such as gender equality and inclusion. Another notable series of works, BiclaNet, artfully combines found objects with traditional painting techniques to explore the dynamics of movement and contemporary cycling culture. Janeth Berrettini has a robust and prolific exhibition history, having presented her works in solo and group shows at prestigious venues such as Kabinett Visarte, Museum Alfredo Zalce, and the Museum of Art in Mazatlán. Her artistic talent has been recognized with several notable awards, including the 2021 prize for best interpretation at the Triennale Grenchen for her xylographic printmaking.
