Jonas Berggren | Fine Art and Documentary Photography
Jonas Berggren is a professional photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden, who specializes in fine art and documentary imagery. Using photography as a primary tool for communication and introspection, Jonas Berggren focuses his lens on deeply human themes such as loneliness, longing, and the fear of solitude. His work is characterized by a distinctive poetic quality, often rendered in black and white to strip away the complexities of color and reality, thereby heightening the emotional impact of the grey tones. His creative portfolio includes notable projects such as Intoxication and Wonky. The former explores the convergence of solitude and the desire to meet others, while the latter captures the subtle feelings of absence and being slightly off-balance. Beyond his artistic practice, Jonas Berggren is a dedicated educator, teaching digital and creative imaging at the Nordic School of Photography (Nordens Fotoskola Biskops Arnö). His academic background includes studies at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm. Throughout his career, which began in 1988, he has received various accolades, including being a finalist for the Voies Off Prize in Arles, France. His work has been exhibited across Europe and is represented by institutions such as Fotografiska in Stockholm.
