Komo Art | Contemporary Art Platform and Curated Artist Collective
Komo Art is a multidisciplinary platform and community dedicated to supporting artists and makers through curated collections of original paintings, sculpture, and design. Founded in 2018 as a private art advisory by Charlie Manzo and Sarah Schwarzbeck, the organization has since expanded into a comprehensive platform that bridges the gap between contemporary artists and both emerging and established collectors. With deep roots in the art markets of Los Angeles and New York, Komo Art specializes in collection management, curatorial projects, and custom artist commissions. The name Komo Art is inspired by the Japanese word "komorebi," which refers to the dappled light that filters through trees. This concept reflects the organization's philosophy of illuminating new perspectives through art and design while maintaining strong, grounded roots within the creative community. By focusing on unique, one-of-a-kind pieces, Komo Art advocates for a shift away from throwaway consumerism, prioritizing materials and craftsmanship that last a lifetime. The Komo Collective represents a diverse group of solo practitioners and represented artists whose stories are central to the works they create. The platform features everything from large-scale oil paintings and fiber art to sculptural objects and collectible books. Under the leadership of founders Charlie Manzo—who brings over two decades of experience from major institutions like Gagosian and Pace—and Sarah Schwarzbeck, Komo Art provides a transparent and accessible gateway for individuals to discover and acquire significant works of contemporary art.
