Ksenija Spanec | Analog and Pinhole Fine Art Photography
Ksenija Spanec is a self-taught fine art photographer based in Croatia, known for her evocative use of analog and pinhole techniques. Since joining Foto club Zagreb in 2007 and the Croatian photographers' association "Kadar36" in 2012, she has developed a distinct visual language centered on atmosphere and light. Her projects, such as "The Garden," delve into the intricate forms of flowers and plants, while her landscapes and seascapes often utilize long exposures and vintage cameras to achieve a surreal, almost painterly quality. Spanec’s work is characterized by a deep appreciation for the physical properties of film and the unpredictable nature of pinhole photography. Her portfolio includes limited edition prints that showcase her mastery of both monochrome and color film. By eschewing modern digital precision for the character of old cameras, Ksenija Spanec creates art that emphasizes texture and mood over literal representation. Her dedication to the darkroom process and traditional photographic methods allows her to explore the intersections of nature, time, and light in a way that feels both timeless and contemporary.
