Maciej Hoffman's creative work

Maciej Hoffman: Contemporary Oil Paintings and Expressive Fine Art

Maciej Hoffman is a contemporary painter and sculptor born in Wrocław, Poland, in 1964. His artistic background is deeply rooted in both philosophy, which he studied at the School of Theology in Wrocław, and fine arts, graduating from the Academy of Fine Art in 1992. After a significant fifteen-year career in the advertising industry, Maciej Hoffman returned to his studio in 2003 to focus exclusively on oil painting. He moved to England in 2012, where he continues to paint, teach, and exhibit his work internationally. Maciej Hoffman is known for his gestural and emotive style, often described as an exploration of the collision of thoughts with reality. His paintings, such as Adaptation, Powerless, and Burning Head, capture moments of tension and climax through raw, spontaneous brushstrokes. He frequently engages with profound social and historical themes, contributing to exhibitions focused on conflict resolution and Holocaust Memorial Days. His work has been displayed in prominent venues including the POSK Gallery in London, Chelmsford Cathedral, and the Warwick Art Centre. Beyond his studio practice, he is involved in art therapy workshops, using self-expression to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. His creative process is guided by intuition, seeking to bridge the gap between human expectations and the lived reality of everyday life.
