momo is a Japan-based visual artist who also produces work as a graphic designer operating across a wide range of genres. Without limiting themself to specific media or applications, momo pursues a distinctive visual expression in both client work and personal projects. In their practice, momo continuously explores new approaches and methodologies. Their work is characterized by a cross-disciplinary use of multiple techniques, such as fusing analog collage with digital illustration, or combining digital collage with creative coding. By allowing the chance-driven qualities of manual processes to coexist on the same plane with the precision and reproducibility of digital environments, momo creates visual tension and a sense of depth. Furthermore, rather than prioritizing clarity or legibility as tools for information transmission, momo emphasizes experiences that directly engage the viewer’s perception and senses. As a result, text and photographs are not necessarily treated as carriers of explicit meaning, but are often reconfigured as forms, rhythms, or symbolic images. By deliberately destabilizing readability, momo reexamines and challenges the possibilities of visual language itself.
