Mohammed Arr's creative work

Mohammed Arrhioui - Contemporary Visual Artist and Mixed Media Painter

Mohammed Arrhioui is a distinguished visual artist born in 1995 in Oujda, currently living and working in Casablanca, Morocco. A graduate of the Casablanca School of Fine Arts, Mohammed Arrhioui has established a unique artistic voice centered on the exploration of human fragility, vulnerability, and the somatic manifestations of pain. His practice is deeply rooted in the concept of 'silent suffering,' where he translates internal traumas and invisible wounds into visceral visual narratives. One of the most distinctive elements of his work is the use of eggshells, which serve as a poignant metaphor for human skin—easily fractured yet protective. By integrating these organic materials into his compositions, he underscores the delicate balance between strength and susceptibility. Mohammed Arrhioui gained early recognition through a residency with the French Institute's Labo Résilience and has since participated in prestigious programs at the Montresso Foundation in Marrakech and SAFFCA in Brussels. His art has been showcased internationally at major fairs and galleries, including AKAA Paris, PAN Amsterdam, and the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair. Through a sensitive and patient creative process, he invites viewers into a space of introspection, where the cracked surfaces of his pieces reflect the collective fractures and existential resilience of humanity. His contributions to the contemporary art scene are recognized in significant public and private collections across Morocco and Europe.
