Rachel Sender: Editorial Illustration and Graphic Design

Rachel Sender is an editorial illustrator, educator and community builder based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Rachel is deeply curious about people: why do they do what they do, and how do they behave in specific situations? She works her observations and insights into her illustrations, often with affectionate humour to engage with her audience. After four years spent gaining experience at graphic design studios in her native Barcelona, Rachel moved to The Netherlands in 2008 to start her own practice. Editorial illustration is now the core of her client work, which she combines working with teaching at the illustration department of the Willem de Kooning Academy and community building for Rotterdam illustrators.
