Alexander Lazarev | Multidisciplinary Product and Brand Designer
Alexander Lazarev is a multidisciplinary empathic designer based in Tbilisi, Georgia, who specializes in shaping digital products that feel honest, human, and sincere. Throughout his design journey, Alexander Lazarev has worked across various mediums, including product design, branding, and graphic design. One of his most significant professional achievements was leading the major redesign of the Android TV platform for Wink, one of Russia’s largest video streaming services. In this role, he created a new interface for set-top boxes and contributed to updates for Apple TV, mobile applications, and web versions. His expertise also extends to specialized software, such as his work on the redesign of Faceform Track, a tool used for tracking facial markers and detecting contours in complex 4D sequences. In addition to large-scale product design, Alexander Lazarev is active in branding and visual identity. He developed the concept for the Tbilisi Cycling Club, a brand identity inspired by the unique rhythm and shapes of Georgian letterforms. He also designed and built the website for studio HANDS, a London-based architecture and design practice, using the Framer platform. Alexander Lazarev has a deep interest in the intersection of empathy and design, viewing his work not just as a collection of pixels and grids, but as a way to evoke feeling and foster participation. His creative projects often explore the shift from control to presence, as seen in his collective drawing experiment that transformed his portfolio into a participatory piece of art. His career includes early branding work for the Communitet student conference and t-shirt designs for Radmir Volk.
