Sienna Martz | Sustainable Sculptural Art and Organic Fiber Installations
Sienna Martz is an internationally recognized sculptor and fiber artist based in Vermont, with a professional studio located in Massachusetts. Her artistic practice is defined by a deep commitment to environmental sustainability and ethical making, often described as a vegan art practice. Sienna Martz utilizes a diverse range of eco-conscious materials, including plant fibers such as organic kapok, bamboo, cotton, and flax, alongside salvaged textiles and upcycled clothing. This focus on material integrity ensures her work has a minimal environmental footprint while exploring themes of growth, accumulation, and ecological resilience. Earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Sienna Martz has developed a unique aesthetic that transforms complex natural patterns—such as those found in fungi and skeletal structures—into immersive sculptural environments. Her work often utilizes repetitive shapes and organic, bio-morphic forms to reflect the balance between human intervention and nature's resilience. Recognized for her contributions to the field, Sienna Martz was named the 2024 Sculptor of the Year by the Singulart Awards. Her installations and sculptures have been featured in major publications like Architectural Digest and Elle Decor, and she has exhibited her work globally in cities including New York, Seoul, Rome, and Los Angeles. Currently represented by Gallery Les Bois in London and Soapbox Arts in Vermont, she continues to push the boundaries of contemporary sculpture through innovative textile manipulation and sustainable design.
