Brazilian Nature. Colorimetry. Power .
A self-taught visual artist with a focus on painting, her work represent a dense vegetal and explores the beauty of the colors, inspired from major colorists of modern Brazilian painting. The artist is interested in investigations of the imaginary, expanded landscapes, and colorimetry. Born in Rio de Janeiro, she began her artistic production in late 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, adopting oil paint as her primary medium. In 2020, she participated in her first group exhibition, Le Carrousel,based in the Estrela district of Lisbon, curated by David Reis. In the same year, she was interviewed by Luis Carlos Prestes Filho for the website Tribuna da Imprensa Livre. In 2024, she completed the course Nuances of the Gaze with Luiz Pizarro at the Parque Lage School of Visual Arts (EAV) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is represented by three international galleries—DOMO (Lisbon, Portugal), Calada Cem (Lisbon, Portugal), and Black Tower Gallery (Miami, USA)—and one national gallery, Galeria Clima (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). In 2025, she participated in the exhibition Expansion of Space, curated by Maurcio Lima, in Rio de Janeiro. Today, Tatiana Mesquitela lives and works in her hometown of Rio de Janeiro, where she maintains her studio.
