Viveka Biondic: Multidisciplinary Artist Exploring Female Narratives
Viveka Biondic is a multidisciplinary artist based in Salzburg, Austria, whose work has been exhibited internationally, including in Mexico, France, and North Macedonia. Her practice is defined by a fluid intersection of painting, performance, photography, and text, unified by a deep exploration of female narratives and the human capacity for resilience. Viveka Biondic focuses on the multifaceted nature of womanhood, examining themes such as identity, transformation, and the interplay between vulnerability and strength. Her work often draws inspiration from mythology and lived experience, creating layered narratives that move beyond traditional media boundaries. One of the core tenets of Viveka Biondic’s practice is the concept of rupture and repair. This is most notably seen in her Kintsugi- Broken is Beautiful series and The Golden Break-Off performance, where she utilizes the philosophy of mending what is broken to signify emotional healing and growth. Her project Seasons of Becoming provides a series of abstract landscapes that function as emotional geographies, mapping her personal transitions across various locations over the past decade. Through projects like The Gray Area and Naked Lines, she employs minimalist gestures to capture the fragility of intimacy and the power of female presence. Viveka Biondic treats art as an evolving, lived process, aiming to create spaces where viewers can recognize their own stories within the themes of endurance and becoming. Through tenderness and attention to detail, her work invites reflection and connection.
