Amaia Diez - Visual Artist & Creative Consultant

Amaia Diez (b. 1990 in Santiago, Chile) is a contemporary visual artist and creative consultant based in Madrid, Spain. Her multidisciplinary practice spans primarily across painting, photography, and film. Her work serves as an exploration of the self and, specifically, the relationship between the subconscious mind and the body. Her emphasis on an intuitive artistic process is the starting point for reflecting about themes such as our internal dimension, inhabiting a body, the tension between internal and external reality, mental health, and healing. Her work has been exhibited in Santiago, Chile, and Madrid, Spain. After graduating from Social Communication - Journalism at Diego Portales University, she developed her skills and career independently; initially as a fashion photographer and director, and now as a self taught visual artist. Both her education and prior professional experience have informed her point of view, storytelling, and process, allowing her to create compelling and emotional visuals and narratives.
