Bloco Grafico: Excellence in Graphic, Editorial, and Exhibition Design
Bloco Grafico is a design studio founded by Gabriela Castro, Gustavo Marchetti, and Paulo Chagas. Specializing in editorial, exhibition, and visual identity projects, its clients include Instituto Moreira Salles, Masp, Sesc-SP, Companhia das Letras, Galeria Nara Roesler, Carambaia, Fsforo, Be, MAM-Rio, CCBB, MACBA, and the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, among others. The studio’s work has received awards at the Brazilian Graphic Design Biennials organized by ADG and has been selected by the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and the Society of Typographic Arts (STA) in Chicago. Bloco Grfico won the Aloisio Magalhes Prize for Best Book Design from the National Library Foundation twice (2017 and 2018), the Jabuti Award for Book Design (2023), and the III Premio Latinoamericano al Diseo Editorial (2018) in Buenos Aires. It also received the Special Award at the 6th Ibero-American Design Biennial (BID) – Diseo para (por y con) la cultura – in the Design of Spaces and Interiors category. In 2019, it was awarded “Best in Show” by the Type Directors Club of New York. In 2021, two of its projects were selected for the permanent collection of contemporary design at the Museum of Avant-Garde (MA-g) in Switzerland.
