Born To Clay: Professional Ceramics Workshops and Creative Studio
Born To Clay is a dedicated ceramics workshop and creative hub situated in the historic El Born neighborhood of Barcelona, Spain. The studio was established by the mother-daughter team of Roberta and Leila Ferreira, carrying on a family legacy of craftsmanship in a space that once served as the architecture studio of the family’s grandfather. Roberta, a Master Ceramist with over two decades of experience and professional training from Escola Llotja, leads the educational aspects of the atelier, providing a therapeutic and artistic approach to clay work. The studio offers a diverse range of services, including regular pottery classes, intensive monographic workshops, and unique social experiences such as the "Torno y Cata de vinos" (Wheel and Wine Tasting) sessions. Born To Clay is designed as an open and flexible environment where individuals can engage with various techniques, from traditional hand-building to wheel-throwing. The philosophy of the brand emphasizes the connection between the senses and the medium, encouraging participants to slow down and immerse themselves in the tactile process of creation. In addition to its educational programming, Born To Clay serves as a showroom for locally designed and handcrafted ceramic pieces that reflect Mediterranean aesthetics. The studio is a cornerstone of the local artisanal community, providing all necessary materials and professional kiln firing services for its students and members, while fostering a meditative and rewarding creative experience for all visitors.
