Clémentine Chambon: Visionary Furniture and Lighting Design
Clémentine Chambon is a multifaceted French designer whose work resides at the intersection of product design, fine art, and lighting research. Educated at the prestigious École Boulle and ENSCI-Les Ateliers, Chambon has developed a signature style characterized by vibrant colors, playful forms, and a deep understanding of materials. After beginning her professional journey at the agency of Marc Newson and co-founding the studio Design Percept, she established her independent practice in 2019. Her portfolio is marked by high-profile collaborations with brands such as Dior, Alstom, and Habitat, alongside significant cultural commissions. Notable works include the Doll lamp, which was inducted into the collection of the Mobilier National in 2021, and the Elliptic Chair, acquired by the National Center for Plastic Arts. Her recent project Shelter, which revalorizes driftwood through a partnership with the Ministry of Culture's Mondes Nouveaux program, underscores her commitment to sustainable and site-specific design. Beyond her studio work, Clémentine Chambon is deeply involved in education, leading workshops and masterclasses at art and design schools across Nîmes, Paris, and Toulouse. Her approach emphasizes the sensitive object, where technical innovation serves a poetic and joyful narrative. By continuously testing the boundaries of domestic design, she creates atmospheric environments and functional objects that challenge the coldness of traditional industrial aesthetics.
