Eva Basta: Cinematographer and Director -creator of weird worlds-

Eva Basta is a Croatian cinematographer and director currently based in Vienna and Zagreb. She works in fiction and experimental films, commercials, fashion and music videos. Growing up in a small town surrounded by four rivers, Eva developed a unique perspective on the world. Her passion for art started at an early age, eventually leading her to focus on cinematography. She graduated in Cinematography at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, participated in the Sarajevo Talents Campus in 2023 and Film Campus Innsbruck in 2024. Currently, she is part of class 2025/26 at School Friedl Kubelka for Independent Film. In 2023 Eva was part of the Sarajevo Talent Campus and in 2024 Film Campus Innsbruck. In 2024 and 2025 she was one of the selection committee for the experimental Film Festival FUSE, with which she has been collaborating since the beginning of the festival. With her recent film Grand Prize she was nominated for cinematography award Nikola Tanhofer in Croatia for best short film in 2024.
