The National Gallery of Kosovo

The National Gallery of Kosovo, located in Pristina, is the primary cultural institution dedicated to the visual arts in Kosovo. Founded in 1979, the gallery was established to provide a space for the promotion and preservation of art following the creation of the Academy of Arts. Over its decades of operation, it has become a cornerstone of the Balkan art scene, hosting more than 600 exhibitions that range from individual retrospectives to large-scale international group shows. The gallery maintains a significant permanent collection of nearly 1,000 artworks, documenting the evolution of Kosovar art from the late 20th century to the present.
