Ioannis Kampanis Visual Artist
Ioannis Kampanis is a visual artist born in 1997 in Athens, Greece. His academic background includes a first-class Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Middlesex University of London, completed through AKTO in Athens. This formal training laid the foundation for his professional journey, which includes a significant yearlong internship as a photographer at the Greek National Opera in 2021. His practice revolves around the fluid nature of reality. He explores how something can exist beyond fixed ways of seeing, using light and texture as crucial tools to transcend a singular viewpoint and transform a two-dimensional photograph into a tangible, yet unresolved experience. His work aims to draw the viewer into a space where what is depicted, collides with what is internally evoked, in order to allow the image to function more as the threshold into a state of sensation and ambiguity.
