Jana Zornik's creative work

Jana Zornik | Artist and Designer Crafting Bodily Objects and Sculptures

Jana Zornik is a versatile artist and designer based in London and Ljubljana, known for her unique ability to translate the complexities of the human condition into tangible bodily objects and wearable sculptures. Her practice operates at the intersection of fine art, fashion, and emotional design, often utilizing discarded materials to create fragile, evocative artefacts with deep conceptual meaning. Jana Zornik earned her MA in Fashion Artefact from the London College of Fashion and has since established herself through high-profile exhibitions and residencies, including stays at Sarabande: The Alexander McQueen Foundation and Center Rog. Her portfolio features significant projects such as Clinic for the Self, a series of interactive objects and sensory spaces designed for emotional exploration, and The Ownership Claimer, a footwear-based piece commissioned for the Shoes Have Names exhibition. Jana Zornik achieved international acclaim by winning the ITS Swatch Artwork prize for Object for Self-Reflection, a work that uses magnifying lenses to encourage introspection. Beyond her studio practice, she contributes to the creative community as a visiting lecturer at the London College of Fashion and Istituto Marangoni. Her work has been exhibited globally, from Z33 House for Contemporary Art in Belgium to the Velenje Gallery in Slovenia.
