Liina Lember's creative work

Liina Lember - Multidisciplinary Media Artist and Designer

Liina Lember is a distinguished multidisciplinary designer and media artist whose practice spans the intersections of illustration, interior design, and information experience. Originally from Estonia and currently based in London, Liina Lember’s work is characterized by a deep exploration of space, color, light, and the often-invisible dimensions of the other-than-human world. She holds a Master of Arts in Information Experience Design from the Royal College of Art and a First Class BA (Hons) in Interior Design from the Glasgow School of Art. Central to the artistic philosophy of Liina Lember is the use of speculative and critical design to engage audiences in playful yet profound discussions about urgent global issues, such as mass extinction and environmental pollution. One of her most notable projects, In-visible Moth Spells, is an installation that invites viewers to perceive the world through the sensory limitations of a moth, highlighting the impact of human-made light pollution. Her process is heavily research-driven, often bridging the gap between scientific inquiry and artistic expression. Beyond her large-scale installations, Liina Lember is an active educator and community participant, conducting workshops that teach children about the vital role of pollinators and biodiversity. Her creative output also includes detailed illustrations and prints, where she draws inspiration from nature, plants, and abstract geometry. Recognized with numerous accolades, including the Chairman's Medal from the Glasgow School of Art, Liina Lember continues to push the boundaries of how we understand and design for a multispecies future through creative media.
