PAV Parco Arte Vivente Experimental Centre for Contemporary Art

PAV Parco Arte Vivente is a pioneering experimental center for contemporary art located in Turin, Italy. Conceived by artist Piero Gilardi, the facility operates as an interactive museum and open-air exhibition site dedicated to the intersection of art, nature, biotechnology, and ecology. Spanning approximately 23,000 square meters on a former industrial site, PAV Parco Arte Vivente serves as a living laboratory where visitors can engage with Bioart, biotech art, and environmental installations. The park features permanent works such as Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster’s Trèfle and Gilles Clément’s Jardin Mandala, alongside rotating temporary exhibitions that explore the ethics and aesthetics of living systems. The mission of PAV Parco Arte Vivente extends beyond traditional display, emphasizing research and community participation. Its educational department, AEF, coordinates diverse workshops, seminars, and guided tours designed to foster sensory and cognitive connections with ecological themes. By hosting international artists and facilitating critical dialogue on the Anthropocene and sustainability, the center bridges the gap between scientific inquiry and creative expression. PAV Parco Arte Vivente remains a key cultural institution for those interested in the evolving relationship between human creativity and the natural world, providing a space for both professional artistic development and public environmental education.
