Pedro Gramaxo: Contemporary Land-Based Art and Constructive Installations

Pedro Gramaxo is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher based in Lisbon, born in 1989. His artistic practice, often described as land-based and constructive art, involves a deep investigation into human perception, space, time, and memory. Pedro Gramaxo holds a degree in architecture from Lusíada University and a Master in Arts, a background that informs his technical approach to creating immersive spatial narratives. His work frequently features monument-shaped installations and site-specific interventions that interact with both urban and natural contexts. Notable projects include the HOME Series, Landscape Series, and Dimension Series, as well as public art commissions like Bright Hour and Graças. Since 2012, Pedro Gramaxo has exhibited extensively across the globe, including in Portugal, Russia, Iceland, China, and the United States. His research-based practice emphasizes the dualism between bodily presence and altered states of perception, utilizing man-made elements to redefine environmental boundaries and the viewer's experience of place through a minimalist and architectural aesthetic.
