Polymetis: Art, Architecture & Design
Polymetis is an award winning art and architectural design studio based in Toronto, Canada, working internationally across art, architecture, and design. Founded by Michaela MacLeod and Nicholas Croft, the studio creates site responsive public artworks and sculptural installations shaped by deep engagement with landscape, history, and environmental systems. The name Polymetis, derived from ancient Greek meaning many trades, reflects the studio’s way of working across disciplines, where architecture, sculpture, landscape, and fabrication are treated as a single continuous practice. Each project begins with direct site research through fieldwork, material sampling, and physical impressions, allowing local conditions to guide form, surface, and structure rather than imposing a predetermined aesthetic. Polymetis collaborates with architects, engineers, fabricators, and public agencies to realize works for civic spaces, cultural institutions, and galleries. The studio provides integrated concept development, spatial and material design, and fabrication oversight, delivering projects that connect people to place through precise form, light, and material presence.
