Quentin Fromont Visual Artist and Curator | we[dot]art
Quentin Fromont is a distinguished visual artist and curator based in Paris, whose multidisciplinary practice explores the intricate intersections of intimacy, fantasy, and the human condition. A 2022 graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (ENSAD), Fromont has quickly established himself within the contemporary art scene through his evocative work in photography, sculpture, video, and large-scale installation. His artistic inquiry often centers on the vulnerability of the body, particularly within the context of LGBTQIA+ realities and homosexual intimacy. By staging mental spaces where reality and fiction converge, Quentin Fromont creates narratives that oscillate between beauty and absence, illness and healing, and desire and struggle. His work frequently utilizes transitional environments—such as dreamlike coastal landscapes or clinical hospital settings—to reflect bodies in flux. Quentin Fromont is recognized for his experimental approach to materiality, sometimes incorporating elements like water or saliva to explore the liquidity of the image. His works have been exhibited at prestigious venues including the Festival de la photographie de Arles, the Festival Circulation(s), and the Galerie Wonzimer in Los Angeles. In addition to his studio practice, Fromont is an active curator, co-organizing exhibitions such as "Vestiges" and "Au-delà de l'horizon." His practice remains committed to challenging pre-established norms and stereotypes, offering poetic and immersive narratives that engage viewers in a profound exploration of the modern male gaze and personal memory.
