Bocca di Valle x Setteuarciate: Creative Retreat and Artist Residency

Bocca di Valle x Setteuarciate offers a unique creative retreat known as the Mountain Camp, situated in the unspoiled Majella region of Abruzzo, Italy. This week-long program is designed for artists, designers, and creatives who seek to disconnect from fast-paced environments and reconnect with the land and their own creative processes. Bocca di Valle x Setteuarciate operates across two distinct settings: a serene forest location in Bocca di Valle and the historic medieval mountain town of Pacentro. The philosophy of Bocca di Valle x Setteuarciate emphasizes presence and process over finished outcomes. Participants are invited to engage in a series of communal and solitary activities, including fieldwork to observe seasonal blooms, beekeeping sessions, and workshops focused on traditional crafts like pasta-making with Majella flours or exploring the ecology of mulberries and silk. These experiences are intended to foster slow attention and embodied practice. During their stay, guests follow a structured yet flexible schedule that balances guided explorations with unstructured time for sketching, writing, or reflection. The retreat facilitates collective experiments and shared rituals, such as forest walks and town market visits, allowing participants to observe ancestral knowledge and local craft practices passed down through generations. By moving at the pace of nature, Bocca di Valle x Setteuarciate provides a contemplative environment for artistic focus and creative play.
