Sandra Di Leo: Contemporary Abstract Expressionist Artist

Sandra Di Leo is an award-winning multi-disciplinary, contemporary artist with practices in both painting and graphic design. She has spent decades refining a practice that merges the fundamentals of graphic design with the intuitive freedom of non-objective painting. Di Leo works exclusively with acrylics on canvas or wood. Her artistic philosophy is deeply rooted in the exploration of memory, and the emotional resonance of nature. By employing colour theory and abstract expressionism she translates introspective moments into visual symphonies characterized by bold markings and gestural brushstrokes through harmonious palettes. Di Leo’s works explore themes of love, loss, transformation and self-discovery, aiming to evoke a positive response and a sense of play in the viewer. Sandra Di Leo studied art + design at George Brown College and holds a diploma in Graphic Design (2000). Since 2012, she has been a regular participant in major art fairs and gallery exhibitions across the globe, she has exhibited in Canada, USA, Mexico, England, Germany and Singapore. Di Leo recently exhibited her art in the esteemed juried Scope Art Fair in Miami during Art Basel week (2025). Her artworks are held in numerous private collections internationally, she lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
