Jo Krukowska Harrison's creative work

Slow Rot Art and Design Studio + Artist Supply

Slow Rot is the multidisciplinary studio practice of Jo Krukowska Harrison (b. Gdansk), now based on Vancouver Island, Canada. After working on a BFA in Drawing and studying various design fields, being influenced by traditional Polish craft techniques and a focus on materials have led towards a current practice in leather based forms. Slow Rot Studio is focused on intuitively creating 1/1 objects, and is outfitted with an industrial sewing studio, garment and product design studio, jewelry & metals bench, painting studio, and maker tools and space. It is an AI free zone. With access to fine leathers from around the world the brand has grown to supply artists and makers with unique garments and leather accessories, but to also supply high quality and unique materials. Design and consulting services can accessed by reaching out with your ponderance. Specializing in conceptual design, I offer unique perspectives and creative conversations that can assist in project development of any size. Small scale manufacturing services can be accessed by reaching out with your project specs. Slow Rot Studios provides freelance manufacturing services from project component prep to small batch completion. Slow Rot is not about brain rot, it was born before this term came to exist. For me it was a description of the challenges of executive dysfunction and the forced patience of the sacrifices of motherhood. I welcome all that rot however, for we will all be rot or dust and these themes are echoed in themes of memento mori and Vanitas found throughout my work.
