Studio Seitz is a Brooklyn-based design studio, led by Kevin Seitz and Rob van Wyen, that produces heirloom-quality furniture and objects inspired by traditional Swiss principles. Operating out of a former babka factory in Williamsburg, the studio focuses on 'functional minimalism' and slow living. By partnering with family-run workshops in Switzerland, Studio Seitz preserves dying legacies of craftsmanship, such as Weissküferei (the art of curved wood) and Schnitzerei (hand-carving). Their debut Heritage Collection features pieces like the ebonized European ash bench and the Heritage Wall Mirror, which reimagines the silhouette of an Alpine milking pail. Studio Seitz emphasizes the use of sustainable, FSC-certified materials like European ash, ensuring their products meet rigorous Swiss quality standards. The studio's work is defined by precision, tactile simplicity, and a commitment to creating objects that can be handed down through generations.
